CBL Foundation Gift Supports Quick Jobs With a Future
For the third consecutive year the Citizens Building and Loan
Foundation has supported the "Quick Jobs With a Future" program at
Greenville Technical College. The gift of $5,000 will provide tuition
assistance to Greer area residents participating in the intense training
program that gives people skills to enter career fields with current
openings in the upstate.
Foundation CEO, Thomas Johnson, said, "With
the rapid changes in the workplace too many people are without work
simply because their skills don't match an employer's needs. We want to
be a part of bridging that gap." Quick Jobs Director, Steve Hand,
said, "For many people who have been unemployed or underemployed for
some time the small cost of tuition is a big obstacle. This gift will
make it possible for up to a dozen people to get skills that will lead
to employment."
