December 2011, Greenville Tech Foundation Special Request

Help us assure Greenville Tech students have the strong technology skills they need when they enter the workforce.

Just as technological innovation has greatly changed the way you live, work and play it has changed the way students learn and instructors teach. Teaching and learning that once took place in a classroom at a specific time now take place anywhere at any time. Information in college environments and in the workplace is increasingly received via the Internet on laptop computers, electronic tablets, and smart phones. Notes are kept in a cloud rather than on a piece of paper.

Students expect this capability. Many students learn best using these capabilities. Employers expect our graduates to have leading-edge technological capabilities. The Greenville Tech Foundation asks your support in meeting this growing demand.

A gift of more than one-quarter million dollars was received this summer from ScanSource, Motorola Solutions and Axis Communications to make the Barton (Main) Campus wireless. This is a much appreciated, excellent beginning. Much more is needed.

As a person who is interested in assuring we have the skilled workforce necessary to build our community's economy we ask you to consider a year-end gift of $500 or more to the "High Tech for Greenville Tech" fund today. Your gift will purchase technology, both hardware and software, that will help assure that every student and instructor are teaching, learning and operating in a twenty-first century campus environment.
