Donors Honored at 2013 Greenville Technical College Graduation

Two distinguished alumnae and supporters of Greenville Technical College, Dolores "Dodie" Anderson and Ralph Hendricks, were honored at the College's May 7, 2013 graduation and presented with awards for their generous support.

Anderson was recognized as the college's "Alumna of the Year" for her loyal support of the college including the funding of Dr. Daniel Dreisbach's return visit to the college, as a book co-sponsor of Growing Greenville for 50 Years, and making a recent pledge of a quarter of a million dollars to the Greenville Tech Foundation. She is a 1979 graduate and in addition to supporting Greenville Technical College, she continues to be active in our community by supporting the Girl Scouts, The United Way of Greenville County, the Greenville Humane Society and the athletic programs at the University of South Carolina - Columbia and USC - Upstate.

Hendricks received the "Honorary Alum of the Year" for gifts exceeding half of a million dollars and six years of service on the Board of Directors of the Greenville Tech Foundation. In addition, his gifts to scholarship funds changed the lives of over 200 students.

Hendricks grew from a humble childhood to become a successful entrepreneur in the building supply business and real estate development. He was a driving force in the growth of his adopted home, Simpsonville, South Carolina, serving as mayor, helping found the Rotary Club and leading the Simpsonville Chamber of Commerce. At the age of 95, he continues to be active in support of the Greenville Tech Foundation, other colleges and universities, and his community.
