Greenville Tech is a National Leader in Helping Students to Succeed
Greenville Tech is one of only 14 colleges nationally to receive
recognition by Achieving the Dream as a "2012 Leader College" for
community college student success and persistence completing a program
of study. Achieving the Dream, Inc. is a national non-profit started
in 2004 to help students, particularly low income and disadvantaged
populations, stay in school and graduate. Greenville Tech demonstrated
commitment to and progress on engaging, supporting, and graduating
well-qualified individuals. Our New Student Orientation is one of many
best practices which helped increase our retention rate for all students
to 73% in 2011-2012 from 62% in 2007-2008, and an impressive increase
to 71% from 58% for African American students. The college was selected
to be a participant in 2009, and the program now includes more than 200
community colleges.
