Growth Opportunity for GTC's Greer Campus
Community supporters are helping Greenville Tech Foundation
(GTF) seize an opportunity to enable the growth of the Greer Campus of
Greenville Technical College. Slightly more than five acres of land, in
three parcels adjacent to the campus entrance on Locust Hill Road, has
become available for purchase. The land is at the intersection with
West McElhaney Road. The seller has agreed to make a portion of the
purchase price a gift to GTF. Two community foundations have agreed to
support the purchase with gifts of $50,000 each. The generous gifts
came from The Graham Foundation and John I. Smith Charities.
Additional support is being pursued by GTF staff. To discuss the
opportunity to assist please contact Les Gardner at 250-8471 or Les.Gardner@gvltec.edu.
The potential for continued growth of enrollment at the campus is quite
high as the market continues to grow. More than 1,500 students
registered at the Greer Campus for the Fall, 2013 semester. An
increasing number of students is entering core programs at the Greer
Campus including the Visual Arts program with more than 320 students and
the Health Sciences with nearly 400 students.
