A gift of $30,000 has been given by Lockheed Martin Greenville Operations to the Greenville Tech Foundation to be added to an endowed fund that provides scholarships for Aircraft Maintenance Technology students at Greenville Technical College (GTC).  The fund was established in 1995.

In presenting the gift to GTC President, Dr. Keith Miller, Lockheed Martin Greenville Site Director, Don Erickson said, "We are pleased to be able to provide this support to men and women pursuing education that will give them skills critical for success in the aviation maintenance industry.  It's an important part of our company's support for our community."

Dr. Keith Miller, GTC President, expressed thanks on behalf of the students, saying, "This assistance will assure that students who might otherwise not have been able to pursue their dream of a career in aviation maintenance can do so, and will be able to enter a field with a strong future and jobs that pay well."

Later, as Don Erickson met with some of the program's current students, he shared his perspective on the aviation maintenance program: "I am very optimistic about the future for skilled aviation maintenance professionals coming into the workforce and appreciate the hands-on training that the Greenville Tech program provides to its students."
