New Partnership Brings Equipment, Scholarships and Employment Opportunities

Waste Industries, a major southeastern solid waste service provider, has partnered with Greenville Technical College in a unique manner to provide equipment, tuition reimbursement and employment opportunities.  The company has given to the College a 2007 Condor Front Load Commercial Truck valued at $56,700.  It will be used the heavy equipment/diesel mechanics curriculum.  Students who successfully achieve an associate degree in General Technologies with a major in diesel mechanics will be guaranteed a job interview with Waste Industries.  Those hired will receive a semester's tuition for each six months of completed employment.   In the photo, Greenville Technical College President, Dr. Keith Miller receives the truck key from Frank Lorick, Waste Industries Regional Manager.
