Superior Carriers Gives Truck Tractor to Greenville Technical College

Students in the diesel equipment mechanics program will have the opportunity to learn first-hand what it takes to overhaul a diesel driven truck tractor, thanks to the generosity of Superior Carriers and Greer-Atlanta Terminals Manager, Phil Henderson, a Greenville Tech grad.

Superior Carriers has given to the program a 2000 International 9200 tractor, shown in the photo.  The vehicle will be used to train students in overhaul, diagnostics, and front and rear alignment.  It becomes the newest vehicle used in the program.  There are currently 32 students working toward certificates in diesel equipment mechanics.  They typically have work in the field before completing the program, with jobs starting in the range of $11 to $14 per hour.
