T&S Brass and Bronze Works

Giving Helps Build a Qualified Workforce

In a garage at his home in Long Island, New York, George Theisen started a company known as T&S Brass and Bronze Works. That was 1947. George and his family re-located to Travelers Rest, SC in 1978, where T&S Brass and Bronze Works is now headquartered. At the time of the re-location the company had 200 employees.

The company has added locations in California and China and employs over 284 people. The company has become a world leader in the design, manufacture, sales and distribution of faucets, fittings and specialty products and accessories for the food service, industrial, commercial plumbing and laboratory markets.

"Since the day of its founding T&S Brass and Bronze leadership has been committed to the free enterprise system, the power of technology to create opportunity, and the potential of an individual to benefit from education," said Claude Theisen, George's son and now the company's CEO. It was this commitment, that as part of the company's 50th anniversary celebration in 1998, led to the creation of the T&S Brass and Bronze Endowed Scholarship Fund. The Fund provides a scholarship to Greenville Technical College for a graduating senior from each of fourteen high schools in Greenville County.

Eva-Marie Fox, George's daughter and the company's Vice President of Marketing, said, "We have found that Greenville Technical College is one of the best places we can look for skilled employees. The College is effective and we are pleased to be part of positively changing the lives of people in our community."
