The Greenville Tech Foundation hosted the 2018 Workforce Development Salute on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 with a new format and venue. The annual event highlighted the recent opening of the college's new aircraft maintenance training facility at the South Carolina Technology and Aviation Center with an "aviation" themed event held inside the facility's main hangar. A networking reception and program featured the 2018 honorees - Bosch Rexroth, Greenville Health System, and Michelin North America. Together, these organizations have given gifts and donations totaling more than $3 million dollars.

"Thanks to our honorees' commitment to the mission of Greenville Technical College, these organizations help our students succeed through funds for scholarships and valuable learning tools that equip them with skills to compete for some of today's best jobs," said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. "These companies have consistently supported and hired our qualified graduates and keep our workforce growing. Without their relentless support to the success of the college and our students, the Upstate would not benefit from the prosperous, highly trained workforce we enjoy today."

"Bosch Rexroth, Greenville Health System and Michelin North America recognize the Upstate of South Carolina as an innovative leader in healthcare and manufacturing," said Ann Wright, vice president for advancement of the Greenville Tech Foundation. "We are honored these companies choose to invest in our current students, the college, and our graduates, which provides a talent pipeline into rewarding careers."

The Greenville Tech Foundation supports the efforts of Greenville Technical College to train and educate the workforce of the Upstate. The Foundation hosts this event annually to celebrate the contributions of businesses and community members in building the local workforce. Additionally, the event emphasizes the importance of developing a skilled labor pool for Greenville's growing workforce needs. Funds raised through the generous support of sponsors and attendees contribute significantly to support for the needs of the students and Greenville Technical College.
